International Premiere.

The latest from popular Cuban director Juan Carlos Cremata Malberti is a story of poverty, corruption, male prostitution and murder in contemporary Cuba. This powerful drama, based on the controversial play Chamaco (Boy At Vanishing Point) by young Cuban playwright Abel González Melo, is set in the predawn shadows of Havana's park benches and side streets, and it tackles the taboo subject of desperate young men who resort to prostitution to survive. Essentially a study of things unsaid in Cuba today – desire between men, familial rancor and the despair that poverty provokes – this groundbreaking film depicts the direct and tragic consequences that result when the lives of an alluring-but-troubled young campesino and a lonely judge with a sexual addiction become irreversibly entangled.

Last night i left the Guzman in awe having seen Chamaco (Kiddo). Although disturbing, "our" cuban reality is not an invention of 2 millions of cubans living outside the island, the film sumarizes what we cubans have been talking about for 52 years. I'll resume the Director Mr Cremata and the film in three words only... TIENE COJONES, FELICIDADES!
