North American Premiere.

Set in the rain-drenched, often violent streets of Bogota, this highly symbolic debut feature from Colombian director Jorge Navas highlights a one-night encounter between Jorge (Quique Mendoza), a vengeful cab driver and Angela (Gloria Montaya), a reckless drifter artist.  Angela starts out the evening as just another one of Jorge’s fares until he gets into an accident right after dropping her off and she ends up taking him to the hospital.  From there she tags along as he investigates his brother’s recent murder and makes preparations to meet up with the likely killers – local degenerates capable of doing anything for abundant cash, mounds of white powder, obsessive love, or a thirst for vengeance. World-premiering at Venice 2009, this film has received much recognition at film festivals worldwide, including winning Best International Film at the 2009 Thessaloniki International Film Festival.

Beautiful and strong thriller in Colombia. Some people will complain that it depicts Colombia as a violent country, but this is a great way to show a true part of Colombia. Not the only part, but a true one.
