In his debut feature, Spanish filmmaker Patxi Amezcua proffers a sexy and intense thriller that twists and winds its way through the lives of minor criminals in Barcelona’s dirty  underworld. Abel is an ex-boxer turned small-time thug who earns a living collecting money from his petty gangster boss’ debtors, using less-than-legal methods. He is a man without a future or ideals, a survivor who seems to struggle through life, until he meets a woman just like him. Sassy Kay stages car accidents to rob the other party and lives with her father, Sebas, a scheming and selfish little con man with a king-sized gambling addiction. Far from being master criminals, these three are everyday people enduring life on the grift, trying to scrape by in the hopes that one of their scams will eventually take them away from their dead-end lives of crime. Won Best Film at the 2009 Málaga International Film Festival.
